SUMMER ARTS AT THE CABARET PRESENTS

OLIVER!

NEVER BEFORE HAS A SHOW GIVEN MORE!

Oliver! is one of the most beloved musicals of all time, vividly bringing to life Dickens’ timeless characters.

Lionel Bart, the show’s composer, lyricist and writer, took Charles Dickens’ masterpiece about a young orphan who asked for “more” and created what many refer to as theater’s most iconic musical: drawing on themes of love, kindness, desperation and redemption.

The sensational score is full of Lionel Bart’s irresistible songs including Food Glorious Food, Consider Yourself, You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two, I’d Do Anything, Oom Pah Pah, As Long As He Needs Me and many more.

CHARACTERS
All casting will be gender blind.

MR. BUMBLE
A portly man of middle age, Bumble fancies himself a man of some great importance and distinction.

WIDOW CORNEY
A harsh woman and a hopeless flirt – comedic role (Sings- I Shall Scream with Bumble)

MR. LIMBKINS
An overseer in the Queen’s workhouse, a walking skeleton who is more character than reality.

LITTLE BOB

OLIVER
A young lad, more spirited than the others in the workhouse, also more trusting and innocent.

SALLY THINGUMMY

Tall and gaunt, he is the Undertaker and therefore well-to-do for his class. He is also henpecked.

MRS. SOWERBERRY
The Undertaker’s wife, in charge at all times.

CHARLOTTE
The Sowerberry’s daughter, terribly spoiled. About twelve years of age.

NOAH CLAYPOOL
A nasty, lower class boy who would sell his mother for half a quid. He’s also very stupid.

CHARLIE BATES
Next in line after Dodger as a pickpocket and Fagin’s second-in-command.

BET
Nancy’s best friend, in her teens. Much smarter about life than Nancy, but unwilling to force her opinions on her.
